Project Summary
The goal of this project is to use persuasive rhetoric devices to design a campaign addressing the issue of drug-impaired driving. This project includes a billboard poster, two magazine spreads, a social media campaign.
Research a target market and produce visual communication material tailored for that market
Control numerous magazine page elements to create clear hierarchies of information
Use words and images strategically and persuade with logical appeal


The Magazine Spreads
The magazine spreads are designed using The Walrus magazine’s format and is aimed toward the Walrus’ readership demographics. The spreads are to be treated as a feature article, with the first spread as the feature article opening and the second spread continuing the article. The tone of the article is to be authoritative, informative and logically persuasive.



Social Media Campaign
The campaign is a short motion graphic designed to approach a younger audience. The goal is to design an effective and straightforward message that will get delivered to the audience in a few seconds. Accompanied with the motion graphic is a digital article designed to be mobile-friendly.
The Posters
The goal of this poster is to use pathos (emotions and feelings) as the main mode of persuasive rhetoric to engage with the audience and elicits their feelings. The use of strong language, image and gloomy color palette helps to demonstrate the seriousness of the issue.
